This is great progress. Collecting the server side patch from alex and the tweaks can begin, is there a topic that people can openly suggest ideas for what to include as well as noticeable changes to be made?

Hi,

i've talked to Highlander and will again tommorow. I may start making some hotfixes due to time lack i got atm (and the priority is to finish my own mod first before i start doing anything else). Highlander got all files which are necessary and will give them to me when the time comes.

If you guys wanna help me with progressing, you could get a list of all items/runewords/hotfixes which need to be done so i don't need to spend that much time to go trough the forum and list them myself.

Rest will come in when i got the time for.
Greetings

JeyP

So I'm unsure of what would be considered hotfixes or changes.
I have noticed when gambling that set items show up around 30% of the time (anyone feel free to correct my percentage). Is this something easy to change? Sorry, I know nothing about modding other than someone else does it :)
I guess I'm looking for some type of guidelines as to what is easy to change and what is not.

PS, a hearty welcome JeyP, looking forward to your input :)

True, sets do come up a lot on gambling but sets are decent items here and can be very helpful until you find better. I wouldn't change the gambling, you can just about gamble every item in the game. If a change were to be made it should to make it harder to get elite items when gambling.

I think the gambling and drop values should reflect the comunity on server.. which these days is a tad more active than iv seen in a while.

Maybe if we didn't give new players a truck load of the best items when they start out they would go mfing more and stay longer. From what I noticed we get new players up and running on the first few days and then withon a couple of weeks they disapear not to be seen again.

Yup, Good point alex, my intent with my question was not to ask for change but purely informational because I also noticed that set items appear a lot when gambling and if they could be changed. Maybe I worded it wrong.
I'm all for not loading up people when they first start, it's a knee jerk reaction, give them everything they want and maybe they'll stick around. Well, that isn't working so well :)
I don't think there is a good, easy solution so maybe we just tweak the mod to the way we like it and see what shakes out of the trees?

What does everyone else think?

The first thing that will be tackled is bug fixes. Once they are done we will start work on developing Apoc mod which probably won't be until the beginning of the new year. For what we are planning there is a lot of thought that will have to go into it. If we continue the way as with most mods which are basically item based we end up going no where. I'm in discussion with the guy who will do the modding but because of time zones we haven't had much of a chance to talk as yet. Besides he is also busy with his on stuff at the moment. If any suggestions are posted they will be considered and if they can be worked in with our plan they will be.

Alex, this is your show obviously....
It sounds like you have a plan for what you want the mod to be.
Is there a chance you might want to publish that or are you holding out for a surprise :)
I like surprises...

The plan is we fix all known bugs that are listed in the gug thread. Once that is done comes the working out how we expand the game play. Like I said previously the main theme will be adding new areas with instances like in wow and d3 that you have to do to find items needed for subquests as the subquests will be hopefully as large as an act. Also the subquests will make the Bunny cave feel like a walk in the park. The idea will be that you need a team of players to complete a subquest or almost imposible to do them solo. That's all O'm going to say about what is planned. You will have to wait for the first patch update.
